TAKHT BHAI
Chairman of the Tehsil Council Takht Bhai Hafiz Muhammad Saeed has claimed that despite the provincial government’s failure to release development funds, the Tehsil Municipal Administration (TMA) Takht Bhai had achieved financial stability and self-sufficiency through internal reforms and strict austerity measures.
He made these remarks while presenting TMA Takht Bhai’s three-year performance report at a ceremony held at the TMA Chairman’s office.
Hafiz Saeed said that when he assumed office, the TMA was on the verge of collapse due to a severe financial crisis. Salaries and pensions were delayed, and basic operational costs such as fuel for official vehicles could not be met. However, through cost-cutting and efficient resource management, the administration not only ensured timely salary and pension disbursement but also built up cash reserves of Rs. 30 million.
Hafiz Saeed accused the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI)-led provincial government of distributing local government funds based on political favoritism.
He alleged that opposition tehsil chairmen and nazims were deliberately deprived of their rightful share, undermining the entire local governance system.
He said the low voter turnout and public disinterest in the recent by-elections reflected the failure of PTI’s local government policies. He vowed to challenge what he called “discriminatory practices” in court, adding that weakening local bodies for political gain would not go unopposed.
Hafiz Muhammad Saeed reiterated that the TMA would continue to serve the people through transparency, accountability, and community-focused governance, despite political and financial hurdles.
