KP labor minister pledges support for women’s rights

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Labour Fazal Shakoor Khan paid a visit to the Ombudsperson Secretariat Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to extend his warm felicitations to Rubab Mehdi on her appointment as Ombudsperson KP.
During the meeting, the Minister acknowledged Rubab Mehdi’s unwavering commitment to justice, human rights, and institutional reform, particularly in championing the rights of women and marginalized communities.
He commended her for her selfless public service and principled leadership, expressing full confidence in her ability to strengthen the role of the Ombudsperson’s office across the province.
During the meeting a detailed discussion on the challenges faced by women in the labour force, and the need for stronger mechanisms to protect their legal and workplace rights. The Provincial Minister reiterated the KP government’s commitment to ensuring a safe, fair, and equitable environment for all workers, particularly women employed in the informal and formal sectors.
KP Ombudsperson Rubab Mehdi thanked Mr Fazal Shakoor Khan for his visit and for the support extended to the Ombudsperson Secretariat, and appreciated his ongoing efforts to promote the rights and welfare of workers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
She emphasized the importance of collaborative action between institutions to uphold justice, ensure gender equity, and build public trust in governance systems.
“This office remains committed to ensuring that every citizen, particularly working women, has access to justice, protection, and dignity,” said Rubab Mehdi.
