Mardan press club journalists protest against police brutality at national press club

Office bearers and members of Mardan press club staged a protest demonstration against the recent police crackdown and vandalism at the National Press Club in Islamabad outside the press club.
The protest was led by Mardan Press Club president, Muhammad Riaz Mayar, Vice President, Hidayat-ur-Rehman Hoti and other office bearers. Large numbers of journalists participated in the protest rally. The journalist chanted slogans against Islamabad police and demanded protection for journalists.
Addressing the protest rally Pakhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party (PkMAP) leader Syed Qayum, President Muhammad Riaz Mayar, Vice President Hidayat-ur-Rehman Hoti, and other speakers strongly condemned the incident. The speakers declared that attacks on journalism will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
They demanded immediate action against those responsible for the police violence at the National Press Club. The speakers also emphasized that the struggle for the protection of press freedom will continue unwaveringly. Later on the protesters dispersed peacefully.
