Peshawar
In compliance with the directives of the Director General Health Services, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the District Health Team Peshawar, with support from Rotary International, successfully organized a free medical camp at UC Sufaid Dehri. The initiative was launched in response to the rising number of vector-borne disease cases in the locality.
Over 650 patients received curative services from dedicated male and female medical teams. Symptomatic individuals were screened and tested, while paramedical staff from the District Health Office Peshawar administered OPV vaccinations to eligible children.
The camp was supervised by Dr. Atif (DDHO Peshawar), Dr. Anthony (Public Health Coordinator Peshawar), and Dr. Mussawir (Deputy Director Public Health, DGHS).
In addition to clinical services, the District Entomologist and IDSRS Focal Person conducted awareness sessions emphasizing community participation in vector control during the high-risk season.
Field teams inspected households in high-burden areas, identified larvae, and sensitized residents on safe water storage and effective larval destruction practices.
This proactive outreach reflects the Health Department’s commitment to safeguarding public health through timely interventions and community engagement.
