A rally in favor of forces was held at Bacha Khan Chawk, Landi Kotal Bazaar on Sunday.
Led by All Torkham Clearing Agents Association President Mujib Shinwari and former Member Provincial Assembly (MPA) Wilson Wazir, scores of locals from various walks of life participated in it.
Addressing on the occasion Mujib Shinwari said that Pakistan is our priority and after it we will value other activities.
He suggested that all issues between the two neighboring countries must be solved through dialog as fighting cannot be a solution for any dispute.
War and fighting have suffered traders and other people of the both countries therefore time has come to settle all issues with mutual understanding, he remarked.
Welson Wazir paid tribute to the sacrifices of the security forces and said they laid down their lives to secure the future of our children.
He maintained that for the last few months, the Afghan forces repeatedly violated the international border rules by attacking some times in Bajaur, Khyber, Kurram and Waziristan.
However, he said hospitality has been granted to millions of Afghans besides Pakistan always respects and upholds sovereignty of Afghanistan.
Pakistan always assists Afghanistan to stand on its strong footings but ironically, Afghanistan has never spared an opportunity to hitch a conspiracy with support of our enemy that is unfair.
He urged the both governments to seek a solution to the dispute through table talks.
Meanwhile, the Torkham border remained suspended for all kinds of movement, border security forces officials informed on Sunday.
They said that last night, the Afghan forces opened indiscriminate firing on the positions of Pak security forces that was effectively retaliated.
High alert was announced in Torkham and the export, import terminal has been vacated of all vehicles loaded with merchandise goods to avoid any untoward incident, officials said.
As per the Pakistan Television, Afghan forces carried out unprovoked firing in Angoor Adda, Khyber, Bajaur, Kurrum, Dir Chitral and Bahram Chah of Baluchistan along the Pak-Afghan border.
Befitting response was given and 19 Afghan posts were captured besides dozens of Khwarej and Afghan soldiers were also killed in the arm battle, the state television said.
