The Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) KP convened a consultative meeting on the Winter Contingency Plan 2025, chaired by the Director General PDMA. The session brought together representatives from all relevant line departments, humanitarian partners, and key stakeholders to discuss preparedness for the upcoming winter season.
In his opening remarks, the Director General PDMA welcomed all participants and emphasized the importance of collective input and inter-agency collaboration for an effective and timely winter response.
He stressed that proactive planning and coordination are vital to mitigating the impact of harsh weather, particularly in the province’s vulnerable districts.
The Director of Disaster Risk Management (DRM), PDMA, also addressed the gathering, expressing appreciation for the valuable input from all participants. He delivered a comprehensive presentation outlining key vulnerabilities, lessons learned from previous years, and projected weather patterns for Winter 2025.
Representatives from various government departments and humanitarian organizations shared their respective preparedness strategies and presented future projections to ensure a unified and timely response to winter emergencies.
The meeting concluded with a consensus on enhancing interdepartmental coordination, strengthening communication channels, and ensuring the availability of critical resources to minimize the impact of extreme winter conditions across KP.
