ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture Division, Aurangzeb Khan Khichi, has reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering support for the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), marking October 27 as Black Day to condemn India’s illegal occupation of the region since 1947. In his message, the Minister said that October 27, 1947, marked a dark chapter in history when Indian forces unlawfully entered Jammu and Kashmir against the will of the Kashmiri people and in violation of international norms and United Nations resolutions. “This day reminds the world of the unfulfilled promises made to the Kashmiri people regarding their right to self-determination,” he stated. Khichi emphasized that Pakistan will continue to extend political, moral, and diplomatic support to the Kashmiri people until they achieve their legitimate right to self-determination as enshrined in UN Security Council resolutions. He called upon the international community, human rights organizations, and global powers to take immediate notice of the grave human rights violations being committed by Indian forces in IIoJK and to play their role in ensuring justice and lasting peace in South Asia.
