ISLAMABAD
Chairman of the Association of Private Sector Universities of Pakistan (APSUP), Prof. Dr. Chaudhary Abdul Rehman, visited the OIC-COMSTECH Secretariat in Islamabad and held a meeting with Prof. Dr. M. Iqbal Choudhary, Coordinator General of OIC-COMSTECH, to discuss ongoing and future collaborative initiatives in higher education, research, and capacity building among OIC member states.
Prof. Dr. Iqbal Choudhary expressed appreciation for APSUP’s continued cooperation in implementing joint programs, including leadership and character development initiatives for university administrators from OIC countries. Both sides agreed to extend support to Palestinian students for admissions in Pakistani universities and to collaborate in rebuilding and strengthening Gaza’s education, science, technology, and health sectors.
Preparations for the 5th Rectors’ Conference, to be held at COMSTECH Secretariat from December 3 to 5, 2025, were also reviewed. The event will feature the launch of the international training program “Leading with Character” for Vice Chancellors from OIC countries.
The meeting also reaffirmed mutual commitment to advancing cooperation through joint training programs, translation of academic resources — including “Leading with Character” — into Arabic and French, and providing research support for scholars from OIC member states.
The meeting concluded with a shared resolve to promote academic excellence, leadership development, and research collaboration across the Muslim world.
