A high level delegation of PTI led by chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has met speaker National Assembly (NA) Sardar Ayyaz Sadiq. Former speaker NA Asad Qaisar and other party leaders participated in the meeting as well. According to sources the PTI delegation during the meeting demanded for issuing notification of appointment of Mehmood Khan Achakzai as opposition leader in NA immediately. NA speaker Ayyaz Sadiq said this matter is pending hearing in Supreme Court (SC) at present. The matter will be considered as soon as the decision from SC comes.
Speaker NA urged PTI to play constructive role in parliament so that all democratic forces could sit together to steer the country out of challenges facing the country.
I as speaker still prepared to play my role for betterment in the relations between government and opposition.
Opposition should play positive role in the enactment of legislation meant for national interest.
Sources said PTI has linked cooperation with government to appointment of Mehmood Khan Achakzai as opposition leader.
Speaker will take final step in this regard after SC decision.
