Police, CTD kill five militants in Bannu, Lakki Marwat

BANNU: Five militants were killed in a joint operation conducted by the police and Counter-Terrorism Department (CTD) in Bannu and Lakki Marwat districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to reports, the operation was carried out in the border area of both the districts following intelligence about the presence of members of the militant group Fitna al-Khawarij. Local residents also provided full support to the police during the operation. The operation was conducted under the direct supervision of Regional Police Officer (RPO) Bannu Sajjad Khan. Residents said that a large number of locals stood shoulder to shoulder with the police, reaffirming their support for the brave Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police personnel in maintaining peace. Bannu RPO Sajjad Khan stated that KP Police officers remain fully prepared to ensure law and order and protect the public. Meanwhile, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General Zulfiqar Hameed praised the police forces of Lakki Marwat and Bannu for their brilliant performance. News Agency
