PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has officially implemented revised fixed tax rates for wedding halls across the province following a significant increase. According to the KP Revenue Authority (KPRA) on Monday, wedding halls have been divided into three categories and taxes will now be charged on a per-event basis under the new system, which came into effect on July 1 as part of the provincial budget. Under the revised structure of Category A, wedding halls, with a capacity of more than 500 guests—will now pay a fixed tax of Rs 50,000 per event, reflecting a 100% increase from the previous Rs 25,000. The Category B halls, with a capacity between 300 and 500 guests—will be charged Rs 20,000 per event, an increase of Rs 5,000, while Category C halls will continue to pay the existing tax of Rs 10,000 per event.
