CCPO stresses need for healthy activities to curb social evils

Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Peshawar Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmed has said that promoting healthy activities is essential for eradicating social evils from society. He announced that a cricket match will soon be organized between the Capital City Police Peshawar and the media to further strengthen relations between the two sides.
He expressed these views while addressing the RMI Media Cricket League ceremony, held under the auspices of the Peshawar Press Club at the Gymkhana Cricket Ground. Peshawar Press Club President M. Riaz, General Secretary Tayyab Usman, Finance Secretary Ehtesham Khan, Senior Journalist Shamim Shahid, Vice President Imran Ayaz, Irfan Musazai, Senior Journalist Adnan Tariq, Fahad Shahzada, Imran Yousafzai and a large number of media representatives attended the event.
Welcoming the CCPO, Press Club President M. Riaz lauded the efforts of Peshawar Police in combating crime, social evils, street offences, squatter mafias, usurers, the arms culture, aerial firing and drug-related issues in the provincial capital.
Speaking after a match played between the Shaheen and Cheetah teams of the RMI Media Cricket League, the CCPO said journalism is the fourth pillar of the state, and the journalist community has always fulfilled its responsibilities even in the most challenging circumstances. He added that media personnel, despite heavy workloads, deserve appreciation for participating in positive and healthy activities such as sports.
CCPO Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmed praised the players for their performance and announced a cash award for the Sports Committee and the Peshawar Press Club.
