ISLAMABAD
Federal Minister for Interior Mohsin Naqvi met with the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki, at the Saudi Embassy in the Diplomatic Enclave on Wednesday. The Saudi ambassador warmly received the minister upon his arrival.During the meeting, both sides discussed Pakistan–Saudi relations, bilateral cooperation, and matters pertaining to security. Ambassador Al-Malki strongly condemned the suicide attack near the Islamabad District Courts and expressed deep sorrow over the loss of innocent lives.
The two sides also expressed satisfaction over the resolution of the long-standing issue concerning the legal status of Rohingya Muslims in Saudi Arabia. The Saudi ambassador thanked the Government of Pakistan for its constructive role in helping resolve the matter. It was agreed that a formal agreement in this regard will be signed in Saudi Arabia next week.
The meeting further reviewed ways to enhance cooperation between the interior ministries of both countries, particularly in security and administrative coordination.Ambassador Al-Malki reaffirmed the Kingdom’s close and brotherly ties with the people of Pakistan, saying Saudi Arabia takes great pride in its deep relationship with the Pakistani nation.
