Cantt Board sends letter to PDA over BRT dues

The Cantonment Board has issued a formal letter to the Peshawar Development Authority (PDA) regarding outstanding payments related to the Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) project.
According to the letter on Wednesday, an agreement between the Cantonment Board and PDA was signed in 2017 concerning BRT Reach-II.
The letter states that PDA owes a total of Rs 3.557 billion to the Cantonment Board under various BRT-related heads. Despite several meetings and repeated reminders, the dues remain unpaid. The PDA has so far paid Rs 409 million, while the remaining amount is pending.
The outstanding dues pertain to compensation for land acquired for the BRT project, as well as commercialization and distress charges
The letter further highlights that Rs 1.40 billion is payable for 311 marlas of land at Aman Chowk, while an additional Rs 2.2398 billion remains pending for 497 marlas of land at Jinnah Park.
