Arrangements finalized for by-polls in Haripur

All arrangements have been completed for the NA-18 Haripur by-election scheduled for Sunday (today).
According to a statement issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), ballot papers and other polling materials had been handed over to the election staff, while polling will take place uninterrupted from 8am to 5pm.
A total of 9 candidates are contesting the by-election. The constituency has 753,944 registered voters, including 392,339 male and 361,655 female voters.
The Electoral watchdog has set up 602 polling stations, 144 for men, 143 for women, and 315 combined, along with 1,906 polling booths.
For polling duties, 602 presiding officers, 1,906 assistant presiding officers, and 1,906 polling officers have been appointed.
Security measures have been intensified, with 40 polling stations declared highly sensitive and 100 marked sensitive. Violations of the model code of conduct are being monitored closely.
A central control room has been established at the office of the Provincial Election Commissioner, while an additional monitoring and control room has been set up in the office of the District Returning Officer (DRO). Security has also been tightened for the distribution of election material and at the results compilation centre. CCTV cameras have been installed, and extra security personnel have been deployed at sensitive locations.
