35,000 challan tickets issued for traffic rule violations in Rawalpindi

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Traffic Police have intensified action against traffic violations across the city without any discrimination. During the past nine days, over 35,000 traffic challan ticket were issued for various violations, resulting in fines amounting to more than Rs 47.8 million. Police also registered 299 cases and arrested 301 individuals involved in serious violations. As part of the crackdown, 8,301 vehicles were impounded, while challans were also issued to 73 drivers of government departments for violating traffic rules. DNA
