Provincial minister for elementary and secondary education Arshad Ayub Khan has said that small and large development projects were being initiated for the people of District Haripur from the funds received under the Net Hydel Power head.
These projects include community centers, land for graveyards, funeral prayer grounds, land for sports grounds, public parks, solar tube wells, medical equipment for hospitals, construction and renovation of mosques, provision of clean drinking water, road construction, and development projects of the Irrigation Department.
He expressed these views while presiding over a meeting held on Wednesday at the Planning and Development Department regarding District Haripur. Members of the Provincial Assembly Akbar Ayub Khan and Malik Adil Iqbal, along with officers of the Planning and Development Department, were also present in the meeting.
On this occasion, a detailed discussion was held on including necessary and important public projects for the utilization of the 10 percent funds received for District Haripur under the Net Hydel Power head. The Planning and Development Department also gave a comprehensive briefing to the provincial minister in this regard.
The provincial minister stated that District Haripur had been deprived of Net Hydel Power funds for a long time, due to which significant projects for the local population could not be initiated. He said that special planning would be carried out to ensure the proper utilization of the funds allocated to Haripur, and projects would be included that are most needed by the people of the district.
