The Tirah Valley jirga held between the district administration and a 24-member representative jirga committee, the other day, has concluded successfully, with a mutually agreed schedule for the displacement of residents.
According to the agreed plan, the formal displacement process will begin on January 10 and the entire area will be vacated by January 25.
Following the completion of the military operation, the phased return of affected families will start after April 5, sources said.
After reaching consensus, both parties signed a written agreement outlining the finalized points. Under the agreement, families whose houses were completely destroyed during the military operation will receive Rs 3 million in compensation, while those with partially damaged houses will be given Rs 1 million.
Additionally, each affected family will be provided Rs 250,000 in cash assistance through JazzCash or Easypaisa after biometric verification.
A monthly stipend of Rs 50,000 will also be paid. Authorities have assured that transportation facilities, medical services during travel and food supplies will be provided separately to displaced families.
The biometric verification process will be completed at Bagh Markaz and Pandi Cheena. Families that relocate before January 10 will also be surveyed and included in the relief package.
Sources said all measures are being taken with a focus on the convenience of affected people, transparency and an organized rehabilitation process to ensure that displacement and return are carried out smoothly and effectively.
