SC rejects bail plea of accused in murder case

ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) on Monday rejected bail plea of the accused in murder case who remained absconder for five years. The SC rejected bail plea of one Aurangzeb accused in murder and attempt to murder case in Mansehra on the basis of being withdrawn. A two members bench of SC presided over by Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan heard the case Monday. The counsel for the accused took the plea that there were contradiction between post mortem report and site plan. The court remarked on remaining the accused absconder for long period. The state counsel Zahid Yusuf told the court the accused remained absconder for 5 years, 2 months and 12 days since 2020. He has been arrested recently on November 11, 2025. Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan remarked the accused who remained absconder for so many years can not remain in jail for 2 months.
