ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad Food Authority (IFA) on Monday destroyed 10,000 litres of prepared fake milk and seized 1,065 kilograms of adulterated material during an operation near Bahria Enclave, as part of ongoing action against food adulteration in the federal capital. Talking to media, Deputy Director Food Authority Dr Tahira Siddique, said the operation was based on information about the production of fake milk in a residential area. She stated that the suspects were preparing a white liquid resembling milk and supplying it to markets in the city. According to her, the team conducted the operation near Bahria Enclave where a unit was operating inside a populated area. Officials said the suspects had set up a hidden facility to avoid detection and were producing fake milk that closely resembled real milk.Dr Tahira Siddique said that the production process involved mixing skimmed milk powder, vegetable ghee, chemicals, and water to prepare a thick liquid.
