The meeting of the Divisional Intelligence Coordination Committee (DICC), chaired by Commissioner Peshawar Division Riaz Khan Mehsud, decided to utilize all available resources to further improve the law and order situation, strengthen inter-departmental coordination, and take firm action against non-state elements.
The meeting resolved to further accelerate joint search and strike operations, prevent incidents of target killing and extortion, and ensure effective security and administrative arrangements for the upcoming Christmas festival.
It was also decided to conduct a joint search and strike operation involving 102 Brigade, Peshawar Police, and other security agencies in and around Peshawar Airport.
The committee also decided to take decisive action against drug smugglers and adopt emergency measures to defuse the ongoing tension in Kafur Dheri, a suburb of Peshawar.
The meeting was attended by Deputy Commissioners of all five districts of Peshawar Division,Peshawar, Nowshera, Charsadda, Mohmand Tribal District, and Khyber District,along with District Police Officers, representatives of intelligence agencies, and officials from other civil and military institutions.
During the meeting, Deputy Commissioners briefed participants on the prevailing security situation, challenges, and measures taken in their respective districts, based on which several important decisions were made.
Addressing the meeting, Commissioner Riaz Khan Mehsud directed concerned authorities to ensure full implementation of the decisions taken to further strengthen security in view of the prevailing situation. He also issued special instructions to Deputy Commissioners to ensure foolproof security arrangements for Christmas by providing necessary police and administrative support, and sought detailed reports in this regard.
