FCC issues stay order regarding local govt election in Quetta

ISLAMABAD: Federal Constitutional Court (FCC) has issued stay order in respect of local government election in Quetta. The court while issuing notice to the respondents has sought reply from them. A 3-member bench of FCC presided over by Chief Justice ( CJ) Amin ud Din took up the case for hearing Wednesday. The other members of bench were justice Aamir Farooq and Justice Ali Baqar Najafi . Kamran Murtaza appeared on behalf of the petitioner Abdul Qadir. Kamran Murtaza argued delimitation of constituencies were carried out in Quetta under population census-2017. Now 2023 population census has been notified. The polls should be held under new delimitation of constituencies. The court while issuing notice to respondents has sought reply from them. The court has issued stay order as well. Online
