ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has made it compulsory all SIM cards must be registered in the customer’s own name using their CNIC (Computerized National Identity Card) for security, As per press note PTA has said using the sim registered in other name is violation of law. The entire responsibility of misuse of sim will fully lie with the registered customer . According to PTA customers will themselves be responsible in connection with use of sims and telecom connections. PTA has said adherence to rules and regulations in the use of calls, messages and data is must. Legal proceedings can be initiated in the event of violation. Online
