ISLAMABAD: Senior Hurriyat leader Abdul Hamid Lone has alleged that India has crossed “all deceitful limits” in its bid to suppress the Kashmiri freedom movement, accusing authorities of pursuing a systematic policy to weaken the resolve of the youth. In a statement, Lone claimed that a “sinister conspiracy” targeting Kashmiri youth has been exposed, involving false cases, arrests, and harassment. He asserted that despite such measures, the Kashmiri people remain steadfast in their struggle for the right to self-determination, insisting that no conspiracy can derail what he termed their “legitimate movement.” Lone alleged that India is pursuing a “well-planned policy of genocide” against Kashmiri youth, accusing the Indian intelligence agencies of deliberately promoting drug use to divert them from the freedom struggle. Quoting a BBC report, he said more than one million Kashmiri youth have been driven into drug addiction, while around 100,000 women have also fallen victim to substance abuse. He described this as part of a “planned conspiracy” to eliminate an entire generation “before it can think.” DNA
