RAWALPINDI: Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Investigation Nasir Ali Khan has said that the elimination of drug-related crimes remains a top priority for Rawalpindi Police. Chairing a meeting at the Police Lines Headquarters on Tuesday, SSP Khan stressed the importance of eradicating the drug menace, calling it crucial for ensuring public safety and the well-being of society. The meeting was attended by the District Public Prosecutor, Retired Additional Sessions Judge Masroor ul Zaman, Advocate Syed Masood Shah, DSP Legal, and officers from the National Investigation Unit (NIU).SSP Nasir Ali Khan emphasized the importance of senior officers guiding investigative teams to address any shortcomings in the investigation process, particularly in drug-related cases. He urged officers to ensure that solid evidence is presented in court for individuals involved in drug trafficking and consumption. Furthermore, he stressed the need for timely and effective prosecution, instructing that all ongoing cases be diligently followed up and challans completed without delay. He also directed that both manual and computerized records at police stations be kept up-to-date for better tracking and operational efficiency. DNA
