BAHAWALUR: The district administration is taking effective measures to ensure uninterrupted supply of flour at officially notified prices in Bahawalpur. On the directives of Deputy Commissioner, inspections were conducted across city markets to monitor flour availability, pricing, and sales. District Food Controller Shehbaz Iqbal Sapra said the flour supply situation is being closely supervised in line with provincial policy to provide maximum relief to the public. He said a total of 272 flour sale points are operating smoothly across the district, while eight additional special sale points have been set up at busy public locations to facilitate citizens. Flour is being sold at government-approved rates, with a 10-kilogram bag priced at Rs905 and a 20-kilogram bag at Rs1,810. He confirmed there is no shortage of flour in the district. The District Food Controller added that Food Department teams are conducting daily inspections of flour mills to ensure smooth production, transportation, and distribution, while preventing hoarding and profiteering.
