Excise officials seized 210kg Hashish in Nowshera

The Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control Department has foiled a large-scale drug smuggling attempt at Ajab Bagh Check Post in Nowshera.
Acting on the directives of Provincial Minister for Excise, Taxation and Narcotics Control, Syed Fakhar Jehan, the department has intensified province-wide anti-narcotics operations to curb drug trafficking and related crimes.
A statement issued here stated that the Excise Police Station Mardan carried out a successful operation at Ajab Bagh Check Post, where officials intercepted a vehicle and recovered 5.25 maunds (210,000 grams) of hashish during a thorough search. A case has been registered and further legal proceedings are underway.
The operation was conducted under the supervision of Majid Khan, Excise and Taxation Officer (Narcotics Control) and Akif Nawaz Khan, Circle Officer. The raiding team was led by Imad Khan, SHO, Excise Police Station Mardan, while Lal Gul Khan, Sub-Inspector and In-charge Ajab Bagh Check Post, along with other officials, played a key role in the action.
During the search of vehicle bearing registration number LES-8670, a huge quantity of hashish was recovered, thwarting an attempt to smuggle narcotics.
Provincial Minister Syed Fakhar Jehan, has reiterated that strict implementation of the zero-tolerance policy against drug smuggling and sale would be ensured at all costs. He emphasized that all available resources are being utilized to further strengthen and mobilize the Excise Force to eradicate the menace of drugs from society.
He added that under the vision of Chairman Imran Khan and the leadership of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi, the provincial government is fully committed to building a drug-free society and safeguarding the future of the younger generation.
