The mystery surrounding the disappearance of Ching Chi rickshaw driver Ghulam Farid Baloch, who went missing on December 30, 2025, has been resolved as police traced the case as a blind murder linked to a monetary dispute.
According to police, on the directions of Sajjad Ahmed Sahibzada, the Cantt Police launched an investigation under the supervision of Hafiz Muhammad Adnan, DSP City Circle.
The case originated from an FIR registered on January 6, 2026, by Saifullah Baloch, a resident of Sheikh Raju near Daman Hotel, under Section 365 PPC at Cantt Police Station.
He stated that his son had left home with Rs 40,000 to collect a rickshaw installment and did not return; his mobile phone was also switched off.
During the investigation, police arrested Latif Wazir, a friend of the victim, whose statements raised suspicion.
In initial interrogation, the accused confessed to killing Ghulam Farid Baloch over a dispute related to money transactions and disposing of the body by throwing it into the Indus River near Nakhlistan Park, Dera Darya Khan Bridge.
Following the disclosure, DSP City Circle Hafiz Muhammad Adnan led a team to the site, where the victim’s mobile phone and Ching Chi rickshaw were recovered. A search operation is currently underway in the Indus River to recover the body; however, it had not been found till the filing of this report.
Public and social circles have widely appreciated the efforts of Syed Ashfaq, DPO Sajjad Ahmed Sahibzada, DSP Hafiz Muhammad Adnan, and their team for successfully tracing the blind murder case, paying rich tribute to the police for their professional investigation.
