Advisor to the Chief Minister on finance Muzammil Aslam has said that 95 percent of the meeting between the Prime Minister and Chief Minister Sohail Afridi was focused on resolving provincial issues, while only five percent involved political discussion.
Talking to the media in Peshawar, Muzammil Aslam stated that the Prime Minister had dispelled the impression that the federation was treating KP like a stepmother.
He said the meeting reflected mutual respect, adding that the Prime Minister and the Chief Minister warmly embraced each other during the discussion.
According to Muzammil Aslam, the Prime Minister congratulated the Chief Minister on assuming office and remarked that he had earlier invited him to a meeting on national issues, which he did not attend.
In response, the Chief Minister explained that his absence was due to the condition of meeting the founder of PTI.
Muzammil Aslam said that the Prime Minister listened to the delegation with patience and acknowledged the serious financial challenges faced by the federal government.
However, despite these constraints, the Prime Minister directed Federal Minister for Planning Ahsan Iqbal and the Finance Minister to resolve the financial and development-related issues of KP on a priority basis.
He expressed hope that these directives would lead to tangible relief for the province and strengthen coordination between the federation and KP government.
