Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Interfaith Harmony Sardar Muhammad Yousaf on Saturday attended the regional laptop distribution ceremony under the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme Phase-IV at Abbottabad University of Science and Technology (AUST) as chief guest.
Addressing the ceremony, the minister highlighted the government’s commitment to youth empowerment through education and technology, describing the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme as a key initiative for developing the country’s human capital.
On the occasion, 300 laptops under the scheme were distributed among deserving students of the university on a merit basis.
Mr Yousaf appreciated the academic progress and research environment at AUST and underscored the role of education in promoting tolerance, interfaith harmony and national unity.
He assured full support for the establishment of an Islamic Research Centre along with a mosque at the university, aimed at enhancing the academic, moral and spiritual development of students. The minister also assured the provision of buses to strengthen the university’s transport facilities.
The university administration thanked the federal minister for his visit and reiterated its commitment to academic excellence and student welfare.
