Islamabad: Inspector Yasir Arafat of the Motorway Police, who embraced martyrdom in the line of duty yesterday, was laid to rest with full state honors in his native village, Dobather, Abbottabad. Inspector Yasir Arafat was martyred as a result of a tragic traffic accident on the Hazara Motorway. His funeral prayer was attended by his family members, senior officers of the National Highways and Motorway Police, fellow personnel, and a large number of citizens, all of whom paid rich tribute to the martyr. The martyred inspector was a brave, fearless, and dedicated officer who always performed his duties with honesty and professionalism. He had been serving in the Motorway Police for the past 24 years and consistently remained at the forefront in the discharge of his responsibilities. He is survived by his widow and four children. Inspector General Sultan Ahmed Chaudhry expressed that the Motorway Police shares equally in the grief of the bereaved family and assured that they will never be left alone. He further stated that the sacrifice of Inspector Yasir Arafat will always be remembered and his services will continue to be held in high esteem. He added that the sacrifices of martyrs are the true strength of institutions, and the entire nation takes pride in such brave sons. Our Correspondent
