KSA demand permission to Pak medical students to move across the border, studying in Afghanistan

KHYBER: The Khyber Students Association, University of Peshawar has urged the government to grant special permission for 66 medical students from district Khyber to travel to Afghanistan via the Torkham border, as their academic future is at serious risk. Addressing a press conference at the District Press Club Khyber, on Sunday evening the Association President Alamzeb Afridi, accompanied by other office bearers including Hazrat Umar Afridi, said that the affected students could not resume their medical education due to restrictions on movement on both sides of the border. He stressed that the government must immediately engage with Afghan authorities at the diplomatic level to resolve the issue. Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa other forces and civil administrative officials were apprised of the issue but to in avail, he added. They appealed to the provincial government that if ground access was restricted then they should arrange air travel on government expenses for the students to ensure continuity of their education.
