Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Zulfiqar Hameed, chaired an important meeting at the Central Police Office to review and enhance welfare measures for police personnel, emphasizing transparency, efficiency, and timely delivery of benefits.
According to a statement, the meeting conducted a detailed review of ongoing and proposed welfare projects aimed at improving the well-being of police personnel and their families. Key areas of discussion included the expansion, transparency, and prompt disbursement of medical funds, educational scholarships, and other welfare-related financial assistance.
Special focus was given to police welfare projects such as housing schemes, financial aid, and initiatives to improve facilities for officers and staff. Participants also discussed strategies to further enhance the quality of education in Police Public Schools, including infrastructure upgrades and the introduction of modern facilities.
Senior officers, including Additional IGPs, Commandant FRP, CCPO Peshawar, and all DIGs at the Central Police Office, attended the meeting and presented suggestions to further strengthen welfare initiatives. Addressing the participants, IGP Zulfiqar Hameed reiterated that the welfare of police personnel and their families remains a top institutional priority. He directed that all welfare funds be distributed strictly on merit, ensuring transparency and swift processing.
He also instructed authorities to improve the effectiveness of the medical fund to ensure timely access to quality healthcare for personnel, and to expand the scholarship program to benefit a larger number of police children.
Emphasizing the importance of education, the IGP called for raising standards in Police Public Schools in line with modern requirements and ensuring professional training for teachers.
