PepsiCo to invest Rs700m in KP’s Hattar Economic Zone expansion

The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Economic Zones Development and Management Company (KPEZDMC) has signed an agreement with PepsiCo International (Private) Limited for the acquisition of 13.04 acres of land in the Hattar Economic Zone, paving the way for an investment of around Rs700 million in the province.
According to a press release issued here on Monday , the agreement was signed here on, marking a significant step towards expanding PepsiCo’s concentrate plant, which is among the company’s eight such facilities worldwide.
KPEZDMC Chief Executive Officer Shahryar Gul said the development reflected growing investor confidence in the province. “Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is open for business and this agreement is a testament to that. When a global brand like PepsiCo invests here, it further increases the confidence of investors in the province,” he said.
PepsiCo General Manager Amjad Saleem said the selection of Hattar was both strategic and practical. “The quick action and quality support of KPEZDMC made a significant difference in our planning. We are investing here because we want development here,” he added.
The Hattar Economic Zone offers direct access to Islamabad and is well connected through the Hazara Motorway, enhancing its importance as a logistics hub for both domestic and international supply chains.
Officials said the project is expected to create direct employment opportunities along with a substantial number of indirect jobs, contributing to the province’s economic growth.
