ISLAMABAD: Hike in prices of petroleum products has been challenged in Federal Constitutional Court (FCC). A petition in this regard has been filed by advocate Zulfiqar Bhutta. Government of Pakistan and secretary establishment division have been made respondents in the petition. The petition said government should be ordered to fix the price of petrol and diesel Rs 200 per liter. Orders be issued to government to purchase petroleum products from Iran. Court should order the government to purchase petroleum products from Gulf states at subsidized rate. Reaching the price of petrol and diesel level of Rs 400 is tyrannical. Excuse is being made to raise the prices in the name of war and situation of strait of Hormuz. Unprecedented rise in prices of petrol and diesel is ruining life of common man. The recent hike in the prices of petrol and diesel is violation of article 3,9 and 14 of the constitution. Online
