Pakistan’s street child football team has arrived in Mexico to take part in the Street Child Football World Cup 2026, carrying the aspirations of vulnerable children from across the country. The competition that commenced on May 5 will conclude on May 15.According to details, Pakistan team received a warm welcome at the airport in Mexico by members of the overseas Pakistani community.
The team’s participation has been facilitated with the support of Muslim Hands, an organization working to uplift disadvantaged children through education, sports and social development initiatives. The event provides an international platform for street-connected children to showcase their football talent while raising their voices on critical global issues.
Officials accompanying the squad expressed confidence in the team’s preparation and performance. After undergoing months of intensive training, personal development sessions and team-building exercises, the players are determined to deliver a strong showing in the tournament. “This is not just a competition but an opportunity to challenge perceptions and inspire hope,” a team official said, adding that the players are committed to making the country proud on the global stage.
Apart from competing in matches, the team will also participate in cultural exchange programmes and advocacy events focused on child rights. These engagements aim to promote awareness about the challenges faced by street children and emphasize the importance of education, protection and inclusion.
