IG-KP offers condolences on killing of Maulana Idris

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Inspector General of Police Zulfiqar Hameed visited Charsadda on to condole with the family of slain religious scholar Maulana Sheikh Muhammad Idris, who was killed in a recent terrorist attack.
According to a press release issued by the Directorate of Public Relations, KP Police, the IGP went to the scholar’s residence in Tarangzai, where he met Maulana Idris’s brother Maulana Muhammad Yousuf, son Maulana Muhammad Anis, and other family members. He offered Fateha for the departed soul and expressed heartfelt condolences on behalf of the police force.
“Maulana Muhammad Idris was a renowned Muhaddith and a teacher to hundreds of thousands of Muslims. His martyrdom has created an irreplaceable void in the religious and academic spheres,” the IGP said during the visit.
He told the family that special teams of the Counter Terrorism Department and district police were working round the clock to trace the killers. Investigators were using forensic, digital, and CCTV evidence alongside conventional and non-conventional methods, he added, and expressed confidence that the perpetrators would be arrested and brought before the law soon.
IGP Hameed was accompanied by Additional IGP Operations Muhammad Ali Baba Khel, RPO Mardan Rabnawaz Khan, DPO Charsadda Waqas Khan, PSO to IGP Rai Mazhar Iqbal, and SP Investigation Charsadda Alamzeb Khan.
Later the same day, the police chief also visited Zeem in Charsadda to offer condolences to DIG Ijaz Khan on the passing of his mother.
He offered Fateha for the deceased and expressed sympathy with the bereaved family.
