Pakistan has made it clear it has never hesitated from talks with India.
We will maintain national security and minimum deterrence.
We have always supported talks for peace and stability in the region. All options are under consideration on Indus Waters Treaty Marka-e-Haq will determine future and not past. Pakistan is fully active with reference to national security, regional security and international obligations, this was said by Foreign Office (FO) spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi in a weekly press briefing here Thursday.
Pakistan attaches importance to peace in South Asia. The global partners too consider regional stability necessary.
Some times provocative statements come to fore from Delhi. But Pakistan stance is always as per international law.
Today Marka-e-Haq has completed one year today. This is significant incident of the history of Pakistan.
Reiterating resolve for security and sovereignty of Pakistan he said Pakistan Hamesha Zinda Bad.
He has expressed optimism over a potential agreement between the United States and Iran.2
Although details of the message exchanges between the two countries could be disclosed, Pakistan remained hopeful for a positive outcome.
He added that it is not yet clear whether the deal will be a single-page agreement or a longer document.
Andrabi also emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to its natural resources, stating, “Not a single drop of Pakistan’s water can be taken illegally.” All options related to the Indus Waters Treaty are under consideration, the spokesperson added.
The Foreign Office highlighted that the international community continued to monitor peace and security in South Asia. Pakistani authorities, including the Indus Water Commissioner, are closely observing river conditions to ensure effective management of water resources.
Citing to Indian reaction towards Pakistan defence cooperation with other countries, he said this is not any new thing . Pakistan is working with its partners countries and India cannot affect it.
Condemning attack on UAE , he said Pakistan is opposed to terrorism and aggression of all sorts and is desirous of peace in the region.
Responding to question regarding Afghanistan he said some local agreements in border areas are good omen. However Pakistan basic issue is use of Afghan land for terrorism. The improvement in ties is possible only if clear guarantee is given on this issue.
He expressed grave concern over purchase of arms by India saying Pakistan will maintain its credible minimum deterrance.
About return of Pakistanis in UAE he said different cases are being seen individually and no political aspect is included therein.
