ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court will hear the appeals filed by the founder of PTI and Bushra Bibi against their convictions in the 190 million pound case on May 20. The court had already granted a final opportunity to counsel Salman Safdar to present arguments in the matter. During the previous hearing, Chief Justice Justice Sarfraz Dogar had directed the defence to come prepared on the next date. During the latest proceedings, an assistant to Salman Safdar appeared before the bench and filed an application seeking adjournment of the hearing. The court inquired about the grounds for the request, to which the counsel stated that further instructions and a meeting with the PTI founder were required. National Accountability Bureau prosecutor Rafi opposed the adjournment plea and argued that the appeals had been filed by the petitioners themselves and that repeated delays were unjustified. The court subsequently granted a final opportunity to the defence counsel to present arguments and directed him to appear fully prepared on the next hearing date. The hearing was adjourned until May 20. Online
