Supreme Judicial Council meeting summoned for May 14

ISLAMABAD: Supreme Judicial Council, the country’s top judicial accountability body for judges, has been convened for an important meeting on May 14. Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Yahya Afridi has summoned the meeting to review pending complaints against judges. According to sources, the meeting will also examine the letter submitted by six former judges of the Islamabad High Court along with other complaints forwarded against certain members of the judiciary. The council is expected to deliberate on multiple pending matters relating to judicial conduct and accountability. Online
