Riphah Peshawar Campus launches MPhil, PhD Islamic Studies programmes

The Riphah International University Peshawar Campus has formally launched MPhil and PhD programmes in Islamic Studies at a ceremony attended by senior academics and scholars.
The inaugural event was graced by Justice Prof Dr Qibla Ayaz, former Chairman of the Council of Islamic Ideology, as chief guest.
Welcoming participants, Campus Director Prof Dr Zahoor Ahmad Swati described the launch as a significant academic milestone and urged researchers to focus on innovative work addressing contemporary societal challenges. Patron-in-Chief of Prime Foundation Prof Dr Najeeb-ul-Haq stressed the role of scholars in guiding society in light of Islamic principles, highlighting unity in the Muslim Ummah, intellectual openness, and the need to present Islam as a comprehensive framework for peace and stability.
In his keynote address, Dr Qibla Ayaz emphasised the importance of research aligned with modern social, legal, economic, and family issues.
He called for applied, solution-oriented scholarship and expressed concern over the commercialisation of education, urging a return to academic depth and quality.
He also expressed optimism that the Peshawar Campus would produce scholars capable of contributing to the intellectual revival of the Muslim world.
