NEW YORK: Pakistan has reaffirmed its unwavering support for the sovereignty, territorial integrity and unity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The support was expressed by Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the UN Asim Iftikhar Ahmad during the UN Security Council debate on Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Ambassador said the General Framework Agreement for Peace, known as the Dayton Peace Accord, remains the foundation for peace, stability, progress and the well-being of all constituent peoples of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Highlighting Pakistan’s warm and fraternal ties with Bosnia and Herzegovina and its people, the Ambassador expressed hope that the country’s political leadership would exercise prudence, act responsibly and find ways to engage constructively and meaningfully to settle differences and work cooperatively for the welfare of all peoples in the country.
