The Battle of Truth Sepaktakraw Championship was held at The Graceful Grammar Higher Secondary School. The event was organized with the cooperation of the Pakistan Sepaktakraw Federation.Teams from Karachi, Hyderabad, Thailand A,Thailand B, Malaysia A, Malaysia B,Indonesia, and Burma participated. Students made up the teams.In the final, Karachi defeated Hyderabad 15-17, 15-12, 15-13 to win the championship trophy.
District Sports Officer Hyderabad Maryam Kerrio and Mufti Furqan of Jamia Binoria distributed trophies and certificates to players.Pakistan Sepaktakraw Federation Secretary Naushad Ahmed Khan said the sport is gaining popularity in Pakistan. He said Muhammad Khalid, Urooj Naz, and Sarwat organized a Sepaktakraw workshop and coaching course in Quetta last week. He congratulated Karachi Sepaktakraw Association Secretary Muhammad Saleem and the executive director of The Graceful Grammar School for hosting the championship.Mufti Furqan of Jamia Binoria said he was glad students from different countries participated.
He announced efforts to promote the sport within the madrasa. DSO Hyderabad Maryam Kerrio said a national Sepaktakraw championship would be Organized in Hyderabad in August or October.Sindh Sepaktakraw Association Chairman Dr.Muhammad Arif Hafeez, Hyderabad Sepaktakraw Association President Din Muhammad Kerrio, and Jamia Binoria’s Junaid Azeem also spoke at the ceremony.Special awards were presented to Sarfaraz Rahman, Balaj Khan, and Jamia Binoria player Abdul Rahman
for outstanding performances. Organizing Secretary Muhammad Saleem thanked all teams for participating.
