The Iran-US war has plunged the entire world into distress.A temporary ceasefire is in effect and negotiations are underway.Even though the possibility of war does not seem likely, nothing can be said with certainty.Israel was also a close ally of the United States in the Iran-US war.It appears that America and Israel have not been able to achieve the desired success in this conflict.Apart from Iran, Israel is also engaged in open conflict with Lebanon.Tehran wants to include Lebanon in the negotiations as well,which is why discussions on a ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel are also continuing.The ceasefire talks between Iran and the United States have not concluded,despite repeated postponements, they are still ongoing.A temporary ceasefire has been reached, but despite this ceasefire, Israel has carried out an attack on Lebanon.According to Lebanon’s National News Agency,Israel targeted a vehicle on the Zefta- kfaroue road in Lebanon through a drone strike, injuring several people.On the other hand, the US State Department stated in its released announcement that Lebanon and Israel reached an agreement on a ceasefire during talks held in Washington, with the goal of ending the ongoing fighting. Further discussions under American mediation will take place on June 22.The statement said that the ceasefire is conditional upon Hezbollah’s complete cessation of attacks and the withdrawal of all its personnel from the Litani sector.Under US mediation, an agreement was reached to establish pilot zones where the Lebanese army will have full and exclusive control.All non-state actors will be removed from these areas.Violations are still being committed despite the ceasefire agreement, which is not acceptable. All parties must fully implement the agreement for the ceasefire to be effective.
Lebanon has been in a state of war with Israel for several decades.Lebanon’s economic and defense situation is very weak.Israel has continued launch launch attacks against Lebanon since 1982.Due to the war, many people have been killed and countless others injured.The number of displaced people is also in the millions.From March 2026 until now, the total death toll in Lebanon due to tensions and war has risen above 3,400.There is also a shortage of food.Due to the war, 1.24 million people are facing severe difficulties.Problems extend beyond food shortages as well.In the event of a complete ceasefire, the rehabilitation of civilians will be a challenging phase.The Lebanese government has admitted that it does not have sufficient funds to rebuild the destroyed homes.There are other issues too, due to which Lebanon will take a long time to recover.It is still difficult to believe that the war between Lebanon and Israel will end completely.It is possible that the conflict may restart after some time.In the past, many such agreements have been made which proved unsustainable.Israel also wants the elimination of Hezbollah.Hezbollah is a powerful political and military organization in Lebanon.It also operates educational and welfare institutions.Like Hamas, the elimination of Hezbollah is among Israel’s top priorities.It is possible that the Israeli government may demand that Hezbollah be completely sidelined from all affairs.Nevertheless, discussions regarding the ceasefire are continuing, and some matters are expected to become clearer on June 22.
The Israeli attacks raise concerns that the US-Iran negotiations may also be affected. Tehran has clarified that Israel’s violation of commitments is unacceptable.According to Iranian officials, until Israel halts its military operations and respects the agreement, Iran will not proceed with any talks or messages through mediators.Israel’s breaches could impact the ceasefire process.
If Israel does not adhere to the ceasefire agreement, Iran may conclude that the United States is not using its influence over Israel,which could damage the negotiating environment.The rising tensions in Lebanon may delay discussions on the nuclear program, sanctions, and regional security.A ceasefire without a proper agreement would be embarrassing for the United States.The US President is trying to exit the war with Iran, and Israel’s actions could undermine these efforts.The Iranian government has also threatened to attack Israel if it does not stop the assaults on Lebanon.US President Donald Trump is also displeased with the Israeli attacks.Trump’s objective is to ensure that Iran does not possess nuclear capability for military use.If the agreement does not succeed completely, America may be forced to restart the war.Therefore, it is expected that Israel will stop the attacks.Netanyahu, however, wants the war to continue so that his objectives can be fulfilled.His goals include the establishment of “Greater Israel.”It is hoped that a ceasefire will be achieved to bring peace to the Middle East.This war is not only damaging for the Middle East,its effects will be felt across the entire world.Due to the war, prices of oil and other commodities will increase.It would be better to make sincere efforts to bring peace to the Middle East.
