Capital City Police Peshawar have launched an awareness campaign ahead of Muharram-ul-Haram, distributing pamphlets across the city to sensitise residents, traders, and community representatives on security arrangements and precautionary measures.
According to a statement issued on Sunday, SP City Shahid Adnan oversaw the distribution drive in various police stations within the inner city. The pamphlets were handed over to traders, representatives of the city traders’ association, residents, police officers, officials, and other citizens.
The initiative aims to promote a peaceful observance of Muharram and enhance public cooperation with law enforcement. Police said all available resources were being mobilised to strengthen security arrangements across the district during the month.
Authorities appealed to the people of Peshawar to demonstrate their traditionally peaceful character and extend full cooperation to police and other security personnel deployed for maintaining law and order.
The pamphlets outline specific precautionary measures for the public to follow during Muharram processions and gatherings.
