KHYBER
Students of Government Postgraduate College Landi Kotal expressed concern over the prolonged delay in their examinations and warned of a protest if the examination schedule is not announced immediately.
Addressing a press conference at District Press Club Khyber, Landi Kotal, on Wednesday students unions representatives including Dawood Shinwari Hamid Yaseen and others said that their examinations were postponed in February due to tensions along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border, however they were assured that the exams would be conducted once the situation normalized.
But despite repeated promises, the University of Peshawar (UoP) administration had yet to issue a schedule, they added.
They termed the continued delay in examinations as an anti-education policy and called on authorities to resolve the matter without further delay.
The students alleged that while examinations of other colleges affiliated with the UoP had already been conducted, students of Government Postgraduate College Landi Kotal continue to face uncertainty, putting their academic future at risk.
Despite several issues being faced by them in the college, hundreds of students remain committed to their education and facture, they remarked.
They urged the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government, University of Peshawar administration, MPA Adnan Qadri and other relevant authorities to announce the examination schedule through an official notification by Monday.
They warned that if no action was taken, students would lock the college gates and stage a protest by blocking the main highway from next week.
