PTI incarcerated leaders including Dr Yasmin Rashid, Mian Mehmood ul Rashid and Umar Sarfraz Cheema have written a reminder letter to Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) from Kot Lakhpat jail.
It has been said in the letter written by counsel Rana Mudassar on behalf of these imprisoned PTI leaders that trial of May 9 cases was not equitable. The constitutional requirements were not met. The sentences were announced on the statements of police men. No solid evidence is available. CCTV footage, safe city record, geo fencing and digital evidences were not presented. Urgent hearing be ensured on appeal pleas of political prisoners.
They have requested that the sentences awarded on unauthentic state evidence be reviewed on constitutional criterion . Judicial independence, impartiality and transparent trial be ensured.
