Land dispute claims four lives in Landi Kotal

At least four people were killed and nine others seriously injured in arm fighting between two groups broke out over a piece of land here in Kas area ,Neiki Khel village of Landi Kotal district Khyber on Saturday, police and local sources said.
They said Abid group and Bejli Khan group had a land dispute and on Saturday, at 01:00 pm one party allegedly attempted to take possession of the land leading to confrontation with the opponent.
After exchanging hard words they opened fire on each other with firearms.
As a result four persons, two each from each group were killed and nine others sustained bullet wounds, hospital sources said.
The deceased were identified as Sefatullah and Jaidullah of the Abid group and Qadeer and Nisar of the Bejli Khan group.
Police rushed to the scene immediately after the incident and shifted the injured to the District Headquarters Hospital in Landi Kotal for medical treatment.
Speaking to reporters, Landi Kotal Police Station SHO Ishrat Shinwari said that precautionary measures had been placed in the area to curtain further human loss and they were investigating the circumstances leading to the deadly clash.
Hospital sources said that two injured were referred to Peshawar hospital due to precarious conditions.
Following medico-legal formalities the dead were handed over to the relatives for funeral purposes, hospital sources said.
