Pakistan and Denmark here on Wednesday launched a government to government Strategic Sector Cooperation (SSC) Programme to accelerate Pakistan’s clean energy transition by signing a memorandum of understanding (MoU). The agreement, signed by senior officials of both countries in the presence of Federal Minister for Power, Sardar Owais Ahmed Khan Leghari, was aimed to strengthen technical cooperation, build institutional capacity and support Pakistan’s climate and renewable energy goals.
The MoU was signed by Secretary Power Division Dr. Fakhr-e-Alam Irfan on behalf of Pakistan and Denmark’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Maja Dyrøs Mortensen, on behalf of the Danish government. The MoU signing formally marked the launch of the Strategic Sector Cooperation Programme.
