Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif has ordered to gear up enforcement steps to achieve tax targets.
Weekly review meeting on ongoing reforms in FBR was held under PM Shehbaz Sharif.
While directing to accelerate the pace of implementation on FBR reforms he said we welcome growing confidence of business community on tax reforms.
PM directed chairman FBR and senior officers should stay 2 days in Lahore too along with Karachi every month.
FBR should gear up enforcement steps to achieve fixed revenue target.
He directed FBR to continue effective enforcement against smuggling, tax evasion and illegal business.
He appreciated FBR for steps taken against illegal cigarette making companies in Chakwal and Swabi.
He directed to appoint honest officers and subordinate staff of good repute on all posts and departments of FBR.
Giving directions on timely completion of proposed faceless system for in land revenue, PM said complete roll out of faceless system be ensured till 2027.
It was told in the briefing that first phase of faceless inland revenue system will go functional from October 01, 2026.
During the briefing given on the occasion it was told that first phase of faceless inland revenue system will become functional from October 01, 2026. Faceless system based on AI and modern technology is important component of recent digitalization reforms of FBR.
